The education of the human person is not merely the acquisition of a few job skills, nor is it a process relegated to the classroom. Education is, in fact, the leading of a person forth to his or her development as a corporal-spiritual being. As such, a complex being, the human person requires contact with both the visible and invisible orders of reality that s/he might develop fully. The human person needs experiences of the natural and the supernatural, the earthly and the divine. How impoverished the education which does not lead one from the books and lessons to a full life embracing the whole order of reality!

Education in the classroom fails if the student is not inspired to go out and live a full life.

Here in Student Life, we work to provide a vibrant on-campus culture in which all the students will have the opportunities necessary to ensure the development of their whole person. Our various departments of Pastoral Life, Student Activities, and Athletics complement our Academics by contributing to the well rounded development of our students’ intellectual, spiritual and social lives. Our chapel, health clinic, cafeteria, library, dorms and athletic fields all contribute to providing a complete life experience.

Most importantly, our Catholic faith in the Incarnation of the Son of God reminds us that the purpose we exist is to glorify God in all things through His Son Jesus Christ (1 Peter 4:10). In all things, whether at a meal or at prayer, whether playing sports or studying for an exam, students are encouraged to live in accordance with the Truth in whose image they have been created. The experience is life-changing. The young adult is transformed into a well instructed, humble, courageous, and charitable man or woman. The students who are open to this experience will grow and develop both to the fullest realization of themselves as persons, and to God’s greater glory.
