Ave Maria University - Latin American Campus offers the students a choice of pre-engineering programs under the auspices of the Department of Science and Mathematics. Some advantages of starting engineering at Ave Maria University - Latin American Campus are that the students can benefit t fully from the atmosphere of a liberal arts university and from the University’s locale; a clearer picture that the student’s goals can be formed before starting on concentrated engineering studies; and a smoother transition from high school to engineering school is possible. Ave Maria University - Latin American Campus offers pre-engineering courses covering the freshman and sophomore years for any engineering discipline such as Agricultural, Chemical, Computer, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Petroleum. Students can obtain from fifty to seventy five hours of transferable credit depending on the area of study. Schools with engineering programs to which Campus graduates have transferred in the past include: Florida State University (FSU), South Alabama University, (USA) Georgia Tech, West Point Military Academy, US Naval Academy (Annapolis), University of Miami, and Christian Brothers University.
