Language Institute
Welcome to the Ave Maria Language Institute. AMLI was established on November 1, 1999. Its prime directive was defined as linguistic, that is to prepare prospective students academically to enroll in Ave Maria. Thus was born our main program: the Academic English Program (AEP).
The Academic English Program is a unique, state-of-the-art, immersion-type, content-based, intensive language program that in eight months or less readies non-native speakers of English to pursue an academic degree at Ave Maria University.
AMLI also provides low-cost English courses, the EFL Program, for the public at large, especially for students from the South of Nicaragua. The EFL Program offers afternoon, evening, and Saturday courses in San Marcos, as well as Saturday classes at the Notre Dame School in Managua.
As a Language Institute we have a unique Spanish for Life program which offers an array of options for speakers of other languages. Courses are credit and non-credit and include: Spanish Cultural Adventure, Spanish for Missionaries and Spanish courses tailored to specific needs.
In 2005, an extension of AMLI was inaugurated in Managua as a business center located at the INVERCASA Building, across from La Salle High School. This enclave offers all professionals the English for Professional Development (EPD) program. This is an innovative cutting-edge non-credit program designed for 21st century professionals whose effective use of English is much needed at their jobs.
So, come and join us! There is program for everyone in Managua and San Marcos all year around.
