A Brief History

In the summer of 1999 Ave Maria College in Michigan moved to acquire the Latin American Campus in San Marcos, Carazo. At that time the campus was administered by the University of Mobile (Alabama), who had founded the institution in August 1993. During the 1999-2000 school year, the campus still under the University of Mobile, laid the groundwork for the eventual transfer to Ave Maria College on July 1, 2000. Ave Maria College of the Americas changed its name to Ave Maria University-Latin American Campus when it became the branch campus of Ave Maria University in Florida in 2007.
